It appears as colorless or white hygroscopic crystals or crystalline powder with no odor and astringent taste. It is freely soluble in water and sparingly soluble in alcohol at ambient conditions.

Applications: Sodium Benzoate is used across a wide range of industries and applications, including cosmetic and personal care products such as anti-aging creams and lotions, moisturizing formulations, body washes, shower gels, facial cleansers, skin care products, mouthwash, toothpaste, shampoos, anti-dandruff treatments, hair conditioners, and other hair care products. It is also widely incorporated into food and beverage applications such as diet beverages, beverage mixes, fruit juices, fruit salads, cider, sauces, salad dressings, jellies, preserves, margarine, pickles, olives, and orange juice. Beyond cosmetics and foods, it is applied in fragrances, pharmaceuticals, polyolefins, preservatives, antimicrobials, corrosion inhibitors, and syrups, demonstrating its versatility across both consumer and industrial markets.
